Make sure to double check your passport expiration date and that you have at least 6 months validity from the date of entry into Thailand otherwise you may not be allowed to board your flight!
Flights
Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX)
Unfortunately there are no direct flights to Thailand from the US. However, Chiang Mai is an international airport and there are many international airlines that will get you from the US to Chiang Mai with only one stop. The airport is ~15 minutes away by car from the wedding venue depending on traffic.
Getting to Chiang Mai from Bangkok
If you plan to extend your trip and see more of Thailand (which we highly encourage!), you may fly into or out of Bangkok through either of their two international airports: Bangkok - Suvarnabhumni Airport (BKK) or Don Mueng Airport (DMK). From either of these airports, you can book local airlines like Thai Airways or Bangkok Air to fly to Chiang Mai (CNX). Flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai are about 1 hour 20 minutes long.
Recommended Routes
From the east coast of the US, we've typically flown on either Korean Air through Seoul or Qatar Airways through Doha. However, there are a number of options to fit any airline rewards allegiance you may have.
Getting Around Chiang Mai
Grab
We recommend downloading the Grab app (the Uber/Lyft of Thailand). Rides are very inexpensive and readily available in large cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
Get Grab AppHired van
We will be organizing vans between venues and the hotels where we have room blocks for scheduled events; however, if you would like to hire your own driver for the weekend, please let us know and we can help you organize.
Payments
Credit cards generally work for established restaurants and shops; however, for small food stalls and vendors, cash is king. Most vendors also accept electronic payments; however, they typically require a Thai bank account.
Traveling around Thailand
With such a long flight to get to Thailand, we highly recommend extending your trip to see more of the Neera/Pammy's home country either a few days before the wedding or after.
Bangkok - Thailand's bustling capital
We could create a whole website on the things to do in Bangkok from the, beautifully ornate temples and Royal Palace along the river, to the many Michelin Star restaurants or delicious street food stalls, to the bustling night markets and world class malls. It is a city that truly has anything you would want and very accessible to foreigners. You could spend a few days and get a taste or two weeks and still have things to do. If you're thinking about spending time in Bangkok on either end of our wedding festivities, we have no shortage of recommendations, so send us a note!
Phuket - Beaches and island hopping
Phuket is Thailand's largest island has no shortage of things to do from scuba diving to going out, from island hopping to visiting more temples! Note: it is a large island (doesn't even really feel like an island) so it can take a while to get around to the different areas. There are also many islands off the coast of Phuket that are easily accessible by boat and have some of the best and most famous beaches in the world. We highly recommend renting a boat for the day and island hopping.
Koh Samui - Beaches and relaxation
Koh Samui is a smaller island off the east coast of Thailand and is known for its beautiful beaches and clear waters. It is a bit more relaxed than Phuket with many beautiful resorts and private villas on the island. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Food - for a meal
So many to choose from, but here are some of our recommendations!
Ajarn Saiyud Kitchen
Traditional Thai royal cuisine in an intimate & homey setting. We recommend getting an assortment of their beautifully intricate appetizers and traditional royal Thai desserts!
See on Google MapsMadaae Slow Fish
Sustainable seafood restaurant located in the heart of Chiang Mai. Chef Yao is known for her skillful way of combining both Thai and Western flavors. They have a seasonal menu but we recommend getting the grilled fish!
See on Google MapsSuki Changpuak
Classic street stall serving “suki”, our Thai-Chinese take on sukiyaki. Multiple locations - but the best one is allegedly the one behind CMU. We recommend the Suki with Pork (but chicken, veggie and other options also great)!
See on Google MapsHuen Muan Jai
Local spot with a great selection of traditional northern Thai dishes set in a traditional Lanna-style house. We recommend the Or Dep Muang and the Kanom Jin Nam Ngiao!
See on Google MapsFood - for Khao Soi
Khao Soi, a curry noodle soup, is a northern Thai specialty (and Forrest's favorite Thai dish) so it obviously deserves its own section!
Khao Soi Samerjai
Located on the same street as Cross (the wedding venue), this is a great spot for traditional Khao Soi.

Location in Chiang Mai Old City, another popular spot for traditional Khao Soi.

Chiang Mai is also known for its budding artisan tea and coffee scene. By now you're probably realizing why we fell in love with it.
Magokoro Tea HOouse
This tea house is located in a beautiful old teak house with a tranquil Japanese tea garden setting where you can sip on something from their wide selection of Japanese teas.
See on Google MapsThe Baristro Asian Style
A lifestyle cafe split into two zones: the Speed Bar where you can get their signature coffees and pastries and the Slow Bar where you can get their specialty matcha.
See on Google MapsKhagee
Very small coffee shop and bakery with delicious coffee. Neera became obsessed with their canelés, making it a must stop every trip to Chiang Mai.

One of the most famous coffee shops in Chiang Mai, known for their specialty beans and latte art.
See on Google MapsCulture
From walking around Chiang Mai Old City to visiting the temples and night markets, there is so much to see and do in Chiang Mai.

We are so thankful to you for traveling to celebrate with us in Chiang Mai. Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift.
Should you wish to gift us further, we have an optional registry at the link below.
Our RegistryQ & A
Who is "Pammy"/"Neera"?
Neera is her first name but growing up, she was affectionately known as “Pammy”, her nickname. Some are in the Pammy camp while others are in the Neera camp, but she loves you all the same ;)
When should I book my flight & hotel?
We recommend booking your flights as soon as you can and reserving rooms using our room block by August 1, 2024 in order to get the discounted rate.
What is the weather like in Thailand?
The weather is generally hot and humid, although December/January are considered the coolest months in Thailand! In Chiang Mai in January, it can range between low 70 degrees fahrenheit (22 celsius) to 90 degrees fahrenheit (32 celsius).
What is the attire for the wedding?
Attire is Black tie optional because Forrest will be wearing a tuxedo, that said lighter and colorful suits for men are certainly acceptable and encouraged given it will be on the warmer side! We encourage you to dress up and have fun with it!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The events will be a combination of indoors and outdoors on a grassy lawn, so wedges or block heels may be preferred.
Are children allowed?
While we wish we could include all children, we are unfortunately only able to accommodate immediate family. We greatly appreciate your understanding!
Can I bring a date?
Due to the capacity with our reception venue, we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests and will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!
How do I get to/from events?
We'll be providing transportation from the hotels in the room blocks to/from each event.
What about dietary restrictions?
We want to make sure to accommodate all dietary restrictions / allergies, please be sure to let us know if you have any.
Why Thailand?
Neera (Pammy)'s whole family and extended family are based in Bangkok, Thailand so we saw it as a great opportunity to show all of our friends and loved ones the place where she grew up.
Is street food safe in Thailand?
Some of the best food in Thailand comes from street vendors, and generally hot prepared food is safe; however, if you have a sensitive stomach it may be best to err on the side of caution especially if you've never been to southeast asia before.
